Archimede is an open-source and open-hardware .net microframework programmable platform based on the Cerberus card’s firmware by GHI Electronics.
The goal set with this card is to meet the demand for a hardware easily programmable, hence the choice of micro .net framework, but at the same time to have a hardware that can be used in the home environment in a simple way to design home automation / building automation appliances or even for simple hobby projects.
Archimede is a controller derived from industrial projects and has been designed by applying our twenty years of experience in digital electronics. Its use is suitable to the needs of experienced hobbyists, researchers, professionals, students and who is responsible for teaching and experimentation.
The strength of Archimedes is consituted by the plurality of interface modules, I / O and signal conditioning, at his disposal, which can be simultaneously mounted. The system has been designed to be inserted in a modular DIN rail (6 modules), a solution that allows you to move from the development phase to the final use of the software in the field with a simplicity and speed not found in other programmable platforms.
Currently for our controller we provide the following interface modules:

Note: As an alternative to the board, the slot can fit a power relay (10A max) or can mount opto-isolators to have 2 digital inputs.
The CPU board uses a microcontroller 32-bit ARM Cortex-M4 family STM32 (frequency 168MHz). A machine with these characteristics is well suited for the production of professional equipment in which is necessary a remarkable capacity for data processing. Completes the system a high number of I/Os (compared to the size of the device) configurable according to everyone’s needs, with which the machine can interact with the outside world.
The CPU includes the SD card, a voltage reference precision to make accurate analog measurements, a plug for the connection to our Ethernet interface board; in addition the CPU board is predisposed for the installation of our LCD board that also implements 4 buttons and a LED signaling.
The Starter Kit, in addition to housing the Archimede’s CPU, already implements some resources.
We provide the basic card, the CPU card, a RS232 module, an Analog 2-channel module. In addition there are mounted on the base board two optically isolated digital inputs (the components are located on the bottom of the base card and a power relay (10A).
Finally, there are 3 female terminals 5mm pitch and the power cable.
All the kit is assembled in a modular DIN rail.
The kit does not include the 12Vdc power supply and USB cable mini (type B) that must be specifically requested.
